Man.  I cannot believe how long it has been since I’ve posted.  I have a bonafide reason, though.  Below is a  drawing my 5-year-old drew (with the help of my hubby) and this will help explain…

Fulton drew a picture of me as a nurse.  Another year and a half, God-willing, I will be!  Nursing school has been on my heart for a while.  I actually started taking pre-req’s after Fulton was born and God made it clear it was time to delve completely in.  I’ll be honest, though.  I really didn’t want to delve in.  I love photography, art, being creative.  It’s something that seeps in me.  I have journals and note pads and loose papers and sketch books full of ideas of personal series, installations, experiments I want to try (encaustic paintings with some of my images and fabric from Malawi!!) as well as ideas for this business.  I will definitely be doing some of those things this summer while I’m on break, but I realized a couple weeks into school that I was not going to be able to do much photography work while school’s in session.  Nursing school is tough stuff.  But I’m enjoying it.  I’ve giving in 110% because that is where God has me.  And I’m looking at it not as immense work, but as preparation.  Preparation for what God ultimately has in store for me.

So there it is.  I’ve been on summer break for a few weeks now, and let me tell you, rest and relaxation are wonderful things.  I’ve been enjoying my kids, listening to their laughs and sighs, watching their expressions, playing with them, talking with them.  I’ve gotten together with friends, watched movies with my husband, and have a stack of books (other than nursing books) that I’m itching to read.

I have also cleaned my camera off!  I have two weddings coming up that I am SOOOO looking forward to!  I will also be accepting a limited number of sessions this summer, so if you’re interested, please email me through the contact page of this blog or my main website.  I’ll be posting more details about summer sessions within the next couple of days.
